The articulated version of the Carrus City U model offers a large passanger capacity without sacrificing comfort or ease of travel. The 18-metre long articulated Volvo B10L chassis is driven by the rearmost axle. This solution allows for a low floor nearly all the way to the back. Actually the rear section of the bus is identical to that of the normal City U.
Apparently the rear-drive solution has certain problems when used in the Finnish winter (lots of snow and ice) and this could be the reason for there being only two of these articulated buses in use.
