The Ikarus E94 is built on a basic city chassis by a Ikarus EAG, a subsidiary of the Hungarian Ikarus group. The E94 has a rather interesting appearance that is liked by some (including us) and disliked by others. Internally the E94 is a rather normal and comfortable bus. Adding a "stop"-lamp to the rear part of the bus for passengers seated backwards is a good idea, but using extra lamps on the inside of the bus when the doors open is merely irritating.

The E94 prved to us that buses don't have that much distance to the ground after all, especially under the differential gear. On a hot summer day we spotted an Ikarus standing with its engine hatch open at a street corner in the middle of Helsinki. We stuck around to see what was wrong with the bus, expecting it to be an engine fault or something of the like. A towing truck arrived soon and grabbed the rear of the bus. Instead of towing the bus away it just lifted its rear into the air and the driver used a stick to remove a singe cobbling stone from under the differential gearbox. After this the bus was lowered and it drove away normally. So its worth being careful with buses too.
