The Säffle System 2000, or yuppie-Volvo, is a now common sight in the streets of the Helsinki City Region. First operated solely by Stagecoach, then known as Espoon Auto, but now also used by STA and especially Linjebuss, that brought dozens of them directly from Denmark to for use on its routes. The nickname of the bus is derived from the front mask of the original Espoon Auto -buses, which reminded us of the front masks of large and expensive Volvo cars. These buses are not exactly a sight for sore eyes, especially in the yellow and/or orange livery used by Linjebuss.
These buses have quite comfortable seats, so travelling is not a pain. The buses imported from Denmark wre heavily critisized for their lack of seats (37), having to sit face to face at the front (some people just can't be pleased) and general untidyness. They have since been thoroughly cleaned and every last sign and sticker has been raplaced with a Finnish one. Some of these buses have received an extra orange stripe as a reminder of the old Vantaan Liikenne livery. These buses do feel somewhat small on the inside, which can probably be attributed to the dark colours used for the interior.
